Days after underworld gangster Chhota Rajan was arrested, a team of Mumbai Police on Thursday left for Delhi to submit the dossier that has been complied on him. The team will submit the dossier to Ministry of Home Affairs, sources said.
According to the sources, some Mumbai Police officers will also accompany the CBI team to Bali in Australia. However, the top Mumbai police officers maintained that no official confirmation has come from the investigation agency.
Earlier in the day, Rajan confirmed that he has not surrendered and was taken into custody after landing in Bali from Australia. Rajan added that he wants to return to India and is unhappy with his detention in Bali. He also denied reports that he was en route to Zimbabwe.
Rajan had also claimed that he is not afraid of anyone. While entering a police lock up in Bali, Rajan said, "I am not afraid of anyone."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that his extradition to India may not be easy as the Indonesian court may not allow it. India can either extradite Rajan or deport him if extradition proves to be difficult.
The arrest was made on a tip off from Australian police that 55-year-old Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje alias Mohan Kumar alias Chhota Rajan has flown from Sydney to Indonesia's popular tourist destination Bali, where he was arrested on Sunday.
