Mumbai Police Arrest Man Who Threatened To Kill Deputy CM Fadnavis
Mumbai police have registered an FIR under sections 153(A), 500, 505(3), 506(2), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for using derogatory language against Fadnavis

Mumbai police have arrested Yogesh Sawant, the man who threatened and abused Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis through his Facebook post. The Santa Cruz Police Station arrested him from Navi Mumbai on Thursday and presented him in a court, from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Mumbai police have registered an FIR under sections 153(A), 500, 505(3), 506(2), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unknown persons for using derogatory language against Fadnavis, reported news agency, ANI.

Sawant allegedly posted a video on Facebook threatening the senior BJP leader to kill him and then ‘bury him six feet under’. A social worker and resident of the vicinity Akshay Panvelkar filed a written complaint against the accused at the Santacruz police station. The video was posted on Facebook by the user ‘Yogesh Sawant 7796’.

The accused also posted the video on microblogging site, X. Panvelkar in his complaint alleged that Sawant’s statement can disturb public peace, adding that these provocating statements are made to incite riots between the two communities, quoted Free Press Journal.
