THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government is planning a mono-rail project for Kozhikode for solving the city’s traffic woes, PWD Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju told the Assembly on Monday.The mono-rail link will have a length of 23 kms and would link Kozhikode Medical College to Ramanattukara. “The project will be implemented on PPP mode. Viability studies showed that it was a profitable venture,” he said. With this, Kozhikode has joined Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram where a metro and a mono-rail project respectively are proposed to address traffic snarls.Govt to Extend Operations of KRFB The State Government has decided to extend the operations of the Kerala Road Fund Board to Kannur, Malappuram, Thrissur and Kottayam, Ebrahim Kunju said. Presently, KRFB operations are confined to Thriuvananthapuram, Kochi andKozhikode alone.
