CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has upheld the new pattern of assessment of first-year MBBS students, introduced by the TN Dr MGR Medical University from the August 2011 examinations.The new pattern, which was based on the regulations of the Medical Council of India (MCI), could not be faulted with, the first bench comprising Chief Justice MY Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagnanam said. The bench was dismissing a batch of over 60 writ petitions from M Maheshwari and others, all from first year MBBS course and final-year BDS course, challenging the new pattern of the university.
