'Mazaar' caretaker beaten to death over land dispute

Sitapur: The caretaker of a "mazaar" (tomb) on Thursday was beaten to death allegedly over land dispute in Khairabad area in the district, police said on Thursday.

Chottey Mian (55) was assaulted by some persons in Takpurva village and he later succumbed to injuries in hospital, they said.

Police said a case has been lodged against Chandrika, Mohan, Maujilal and Baraithey, besides two women Ramkali and Kusuma, with whom Chottey was having land dispute.
