Manholes to be levelled with roads

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) will take up the raising or lowering of manholes to road level at about 98 places in the twin cities immediately in view of the coming monsoon.The additional commissioner of police (Traffic) C V Anand had given them a list of 98 manholes located at various places which require raising or lowering to road surface.In response, the managing director M Jagadeeshwar held a meeting with chief general managers (Engineering) of Operation and Maintenance Circles on Tuesday and asked them to personally inspect the areas and do the needful.He has also instructed the CGMs to see that all missing and damaged manhole covers are replaced with new ones. They were also instructed to expedite the de-silting works of sewer mains in low lying areas.
