ALAPPUZHA: A search operation was undertaken to locate the body of the fishermen who went missing after the mid-sea collision, following reports that a body was found floating in the sea on Thursday. The colleagues of the missing fishermen launched a search to find out the body, but in vain. Dominic Antony, the owner of Don, the ill-fated boat, said: “Some fishermen who went to the sea for fishing in a country boat informed those on another boat about a body which was seen floating in the sea around 32 nautical miles off the shore.”“The workers in that boat passed on the information to their friends on the shore. ‘Sakthi,’ a boat anchored at the Thottappilly harbour, went to the sea with seven fishermen in search of the body. But they couldn’t reach the spot as the sea turned rough. A police boat also ventured into the sea for search operations, but it had to cut short the journey owing to a technical snag,” Antony said.
