India is in touch with Afghan authorities to secure the release of a 40-year-old woman, who was abducted from Kabul on Thursday night. The abducted Indian woman, identified as Judith D'Souza, hails from Kolkata.
"Our Embassy is in touch with senior Afghan authorities and the government is in touch with her family in Kolkata too. All efforts are being made by Afghan authorities to secure her early release", Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officials said.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured of swift action.

Technical, surveillance teams and special forces trying to locate her and officials say that her mobile phone was on for some time after she was kidnapped.
Speaking to CNN-News18, Judith's father Denzil said there's no clarification on where she is or anything. There were 3 of them - the driver, the guard and Judith.
"Her cell phone has been cut off. She has been in Afghanistan for a year. Next course of action is to wait and for the External Ministry and Mamata Banerjee to take action", he added.
