CHENNAI: A domestic quarrel took a tragic turn when a couple immolated themselves in Saidapet on Saturday.Their one-and-a-halfyear- old son too perished in the fire.Sources said Pandian (35), a car driver, used to spend his entire income on liquor.This led to frequent tiffs between him and his wife Selvi, who was making some money out of tailoring. On Saturday, Pandian came home and demanded money from Selvi to buy liquor to which she refused.This led to an altercation between them after which Selvi set herself on fire after dousing kerosene. Pandian followed suit, but the flames engulfed their son Chandru also. All three were admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, where they died the same night.Student Kills Self A 15-year-old girl hanged herself after reportedly being scolded by her parents for scoring low marks in the Class X board exams. Sources said Sarala had passed the examination, but had scored poor marks.Her parents reprimanded her saying it would be difficult for her to get an admission for Plus Two. On Saturday, Sarala hanged herself in her house.
