BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police raided the offices of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s sons and son-in-law, who have been named in the Upper Bharda Project scam.On Tuesday, the Lokayukta police teams raided offices of Dhavalagiri Properties, Sahyadri Healthcare, Prerana Trust and the house of Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar simultaneously. Police teams led by DySPs Abdul Ahad, Girish and Manjunath raided the places and seized several documents.Additional Director General of Police of Lokayukta Jeevan Kumar V Gaonkar said officers are trying to probe Yeddyurappa’s family’s link to the documents. “I cannot comment on the documents unless officers verify them,” he said.Raids were carried out at the Sahyadri Healthcare office in Tilakanagar, Sohan Kumar’s house at Vijayanagar and offices of Dhavalagiri Properties and Prerana Trust at Nehrunagar near Sheshadripuram. Sources said that police have recovered documents related to company bank accounts, money transactions, among others. An officer said some of the documents are clear evidence in this case and the Lokayukta police would take action after comparing them with the complaint filed by JD(S) leader Y S V Datta.Datta had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta court alleging that Yeddyurappa’s family-owned company and trust accepted “donations” of `13 crore from a businessman as illegal gratification in the Upper Bhadra Project. R N S Infrastructure Jyothi Ltd, which was chosen for the project after it had bid for the project with another firm, had allegedly paid a kickback of `13 crore to Dhavalagiri Properties and Sahyadri Healthcare And Diagnostics, owned by Yeddyurappa’s sons B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijayendra, and Sohan Kumar.
