New Delhi: Life hasn’t been the same for Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut after her sister was burnt with acid allegedly by a rejected suitor in October last year.
The Ganster girl is now allegedly facing threat to her own life from the rejected suitor police said on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, Sanjay Gunjiyal was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that Avinash Sharma, on whose alleged instructions acid was thrown on Kangna's sister Rangoli last year, has been calling up the actress on her cell phone "threatening to throw acid on her face if he failed to marry Rangoli".
Kangana had on Monday filed a complaint with the Mumbai police against Sharma.
The Mumbai police has already written a letter to the Uttarakhand police informing the latter about the alleged threats to the actress.
The police would take suitable action in this regard and oppose Sharma's bail in the district court Gujjyal said.
Meanwhile, Kangana's publicist Parull Gossain claimed the actress had been receiving threatening phone calls and SMSs for the past month from Sharma.
“He (Sharma) also tried to meet Kangana personally,” PTI quoted Gossain as saying.
It is believed that Sharma had allegedly instigated his friend Prem Singh to throw acid on Rangoli at her rented house in Dehradun.
The state police had arrested both Sharma and Singh who were later sent to jail in October. Sharma was granted bail by a local court on November 13.
