THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former President A P J Abdul Kalam will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday night ahead of a number of programmes scheduled for Friday. Kalam will interact with cadets of Sainik School, Kazhakkoottam, on Friday morning. Kalam is visiting the school as part of the school’s ongoing platinum jubilee celebrations. The interaction is scheduled for 10 am. After spending an hour with the students, he will leave for the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Valiyamala. The scientist, often dubbed ‘Missile Man’, is also the Chancellor of IIST, an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) institution for moulding space scientists. Kalam will be chief guest at the Research Scholar Day celebrations at the IIST, which is into its fourth year. From the IIST, the former President will leave for the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thumba. He will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 5.30 pm. Kalam will spend Thursday night at the Raj Bhavan.
