The BJP on Thursday claimed that the Babulal Marandi-led Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has no relevance in the state politics and it would reflect in the upcoming assembly elections.

"Where is the identity of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha?" BJP State president and MP Ravindra Rai said to a media query in Ranchi on JVM plans to prepare for the elections.

Headed by its president and former chief minister in Giridih, the JVM had staged a two-day demonstration ending on Thursday in five districts against power crisis in the state.

Marandi had floated JVM after quitting BJP eight years ago and got 11 seats in the 2009 assembly elections.

Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha is in 14 days judicial custody along with several of his party supporters from June 3 after being arrested the previous day following alleged assault of a senior government official during the party's demonstration against power crisis.
