HASSAN: A wild elephant trampled one to death and caused serious injuries to another in Halasur village, Alur taluk, on TuesdayThe deceased has been identified as Subbiah, 62, a plantation labourer, and the injured as Neelamma. The elephant attacked the two with its trunk when they were working in a coffee estate. Learning about the incident, Alur police rushed to the spot and shifted Subbiah’s body to Alur Government Hospital. Neelamma has been admitted to the Government Hospital in Hassan and her condition is said to be critical.
