Amman, Jordan: As the war rages on between the Palestinians and Israel, an offer of help to the Palestinians comes from Jordan's Queen Rania.

As a sign of support and solidarity, she has donated blood for the survivors at the Al-Hussein Medical Centre in Amman.

Queen Rania who has a Palestinian background has also urged other Jordanians to come forward and help.

On Monday, King Abdullah II also donated blood.

Following the air strikes on Gaza since Saturday, the Islamist lead opposition in Jordan has been demanding an end to the peace treaty with Israel.

King Abdullah said, “Our duty now is to stop the Israeli military offensive against our brothers in Gaza. We are ready to help our brothers as requested. We spoke to the army to prepare military hospitals and hopefully we will be sending them very soon to Gaza. Donating the blood is something simple and the least we can offer to our brothers in Gaza.”

Speaking to reporters after giving blood at the King Hussein Medical Centre on Monday, Abdullah said that his country will dispatch military hospitals to Gaza to help treat those wounded in Israeli air strikes.

Local hospitals in the coastal city have been left unable to cope with the large number of injuries.

"We in Jordan are uncomfortable and there is no one closer to the Palestinians than Jordanians.

Jordan has witnessed massive demonstrations since the attacks started on Gaza, amid calls from the Islamist lead opposition to end the peace treaty with Israel.
