The accused, Shahid Ahmad Wani, also threatened the family of the rape survivor against going to the police.

Shopian: A man in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district was arrested for drugging and then raping a minor girl. The accused committed the crime on November 26, 2012, but a case was registered with the police on December 3.

"When I entered his house, there was nobody else inside. He bolted the door from inside. He said he will return my photographs. I didn't find his mother there. He then drugged and gagged me and misbehaved with me," said the rape survivor.

The accused, Shahid Ahmad Wani of Aliyalpora village, also threatened the family of the 13-year old rape survivor against going to the police. Police have begun a probe in the case while a court has remanded Wani to the police custody.

It has emerged that Wani drugged and raped the girl on November 25. The family of the rape survivor said they received threats and were stigmatised and decided to not approach police. A case under section 342, 376 RPC has been registered with the Shopian police station.
