BANGALORE: The state government may seek the expertise of Israel security forces to train the state commando forces and the Intelligence wing, said Home Minister R Ashok here on Wednesday.Speaking to newsmen after receiving a delegation from the Israeli embassy, the minister said the issue of imparting training by the Israel authorities to the State Commando force also figured in the discussion.Refusing to divulge further, Ashok said the issue would get crystallised once formal discussions are held between the Israel authorities and the state, he said.He added that Congress was taking drought assessment tour across the state on purpse and not to address the problems of the people. “The Congress is politicising the plight of the drought-hit people to its advantage,” he said. According to him, the state government took necessary steps to combat the dry spell across the state.“The state government released grants from its resources, cattle sheds have been opened, sufficient fodder stock has been provided and drought relief works have been taken up to prevent migration,” he said.He also was hopeful about the upcoming Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) election. The minister who is also Bangalore urban district in-charge said a committee consisting of senior leaders would be formed to finalise the party’s candidate. “The mayoral candidate would be named after arriving at a consensus,” Ashok added.
