Munich: Heena Sidhu has become the first pistol shooter from India to win a gold medal at the World Cup final. The 24-year-old Sidhu, who finished 12th at the London Olympics, beat the best shooters in the world this year in the 10m air pistol event in Munich.
In fact, this is her first Gold medal at the world level. Heena qualified for the final in third place. With all shooters starting at zero in the final, Heena made her move early and was in the lead after the fourth series.
She never relinquished it from then on and finished a massive 5.2 points ahead of current world champion Zorana Arunovic.
Anjali Bhagwat, Gagan Narang and Ronjan Sodhi are the only other three to win gold in this competition for India.
