Cafe De Central 1881 offers a wide array of tasty dishes to tourists, as well as a spectacular view of a toy train whizzing by before your eyes as you dine. This traditional cafe is located right on the platform of the Kurseong Railway Station. The toy train of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway stops in front of this cafe on its way to Darjeeling.

A tourist said that, surprisingly, this heritage site, Cafe De Central 1881 has been so beautifully preserved within the Kurseong Railway Station platform. The tourist added that the joy of witnessing the toy train, while eating food is completely different. Saraswati, who works here, said that the most popular variety of tea is available in this cafe. According to her, while eating, tourists are delighted to see the toy train in front of their eyes. If you are also thinking of going to Darjeeling during the Durga Puja holidays, then you must visit the traditional heritage Cafe De Central 1881, surrounded by hills.

As seen in the Local 18 visual, a hand-pull rickshaw is also present outside the cafe. Hand-pull rickshaws, which once used to operate in massive numbers, are on a decline in Kolkata. This rickshaw shown outside the cafe is most probably a relic. Not only the hand-pull rickshaw, in the cafe shows many other relics as well as telephones and other objects. The cafe has a captivating interior with a lot of archival photographs as well giving an insight into the history.
