IBNLive Movie Awards: Deepika Padukone will be hard to beat in the Best Actress category
Deepika is leading the race with 61 percent of the total vote count, and she is far ahead of others.

New Delhi: We thank you for the overwhelming support you have shown towards the first IBNLive Movie Awards. Your participation has proved our decision to start these awards correct.

We didn't imagine this kind of cooperation from your side in the beginning, but now when you have shown the willingness to take the venture forward, we would request you to spread the information more, so that like minded people can find us and join us. In a time, when almost all the award shows are under scanner for their authenticity, we dared to change the rules of the game. We devised our own parameters to judge a film and its impact on the society and the individual. With the help of suggestions from the experts, we chose some names in different categories. Those who were not selected in the final list of nominees didn't fulfil the criteria. This doesn't make them a bad film or a bad performer, but our standards were different.

Popularity was definitely not a benchmark for us as we clearly knew the effects of good PR skills and high budget marketing. The actors and the films had to depend on the content only.

Our first and foremost rule was to include those films which had regressive content and which just failed to break out of the stereotype net. We would also like to share that the changing content of Hindi films surprised us to a good extent.

But, there are still some categories in which the trends are almost like leading award ceremonies, may be because the mainstream actors have come up with some scintillating performances this year.

The five names which were included in the final list of nominees for the Best Actress of the year 2013 are Deepika Padukone, Nimrat Kaur, Adia Al-Khashef, Sonakshi Sinha and Konkona Sen Sharma. They were nominated for their performances in films such as 'Ram Leela', 'The Lunchbox', 'Ship Of Theseus', 'Lootera' and 'Ek Thi Daayan'. There were some other impressive performances as well for which Deepika Padukone could have been included, but we decided to include her 'Ram Leela' performance as the representation of all.

Deepika is leading the race with 61 percent of the total vote share. She is far ahead of others and it seems she is going to win the race, provided she maintains her lead. Nimreat Kaur is at the second spot with 17.55 percent votes. Sonakshi Sinha has got 14.12 percent till now. Konkona and Adia are at the last two spots with 4.45 and 2.87 percent votes.

Will Nimrat be able to bridge the gap to emerge victorious? Everything depends on you, so don't wait, press the VOTE button.
