Hurriyat leader meets Basit over Sushma's Pakistan visit
Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani call for a consistent and firm policy over Kashmir issue.

Two Hurriyat leaders on Sunday met Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in Delhi to discuss the political developments in Pakistan following the recent visit of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Islamabad where she met top leaders on the occasion of Asia Heart Conference.

The two-member Hurriyat delegation comprised Syed Ali Shah Geelani's - lifetime chairman of Hurriyat - personal secretary Peer Saifullah and his son-in-law Altaf Ahmad Shah.

Sources said, the Hurriyat leaders gave Geelani's official letter to Basit suggesting that Pakistan should continue to maintain consistency and firmness over its Kashmir policy and it should play an active role in highlighting the human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir at international forums.
