Human Ocean for Fishermens Safety

KOCHI: The Kerala Fisheries Coordination Committee will hold a state-wide agitation ‘Human Ocean for Fishermen’s Safety’ in the context of the shooting of Indian fishermen by Italian mariners and demanding safety for the lives and livelihoods of fishermen.The agitation will be held in all the 222 fishing villages in the state, from Manjeshwaram in Kasaragod to Pozhiyoor in Thiruvananthapuram, under the coordination of the Kerala Fisheries Coordination Committee on April 28.People all the villages will gather at the event, will hold hands and administer an oath for the safety and security of fishermen.Protection for the fishermen’s lives and their vessels are among the demands raised by the committee.The event will be attended by several persons from the social, political and cultural fields.Also, the heads of various fishermen’s organisations will be present at the event
