BANGALORE: The High Grounds police, who went to an apartment in connection with the investigation of a cheating case, had to face the allegations of stealing the pistol of Hussein Mueen Farooq, who helped the Lokayukta police in trapping KGF MLA Y Sampangi.The episode started with one Wali Khan, a Mumbai-based man, filing a cheating case against Jilani Hussein, an acquaintance of Farooq, on Sunday morning. Khan had accused Hussein of buying an imported bike worth `4.3 lakh from him on August 13 and the cheque that Hussein had given to him had bounced. Later, he allegedly refused to give him money. In his complaint, Khan had also given address of Hussein at Sumith Apartments in Vasanth Nagar.Based on his complaint, the police went to the apartment with a photo of Hussein and inquired with the security guards. After they confirmed that Hussein visited the apartment often, they went inside a flat and  found Hussein with Farooq. As the police were inquiring Hussein about the cheating case, Farooq interfered and alleged the police of stealing his pistol. Shocked by his charge, the police asked him to file a complaint.Farooq came to the police station and was speaking to the officers at the station. Meanwhile, his pistol was found at a shed behind the station. Farooq further alleged that the policemen had put his pistol there. Farooq later filed a case against head constable Kala Narasaiah. Meanwhile, the accused in the cheating case Hussein went absconding.
