Here's How India Is Winning The World With Yoga
A look into how everybody around the world is geared up for the big day.

On the eve International Yoga Day, preparations are in full swing not just in India but across the world.

The main event in India will be held in Chandigarh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend mass yoga sessions, just like he did last year at India Gate in Delhi. Here's a glimpse of the ongoing preparations in Chandigarh.

Derived from the Sanskrit word yuj, Yoga means union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. A 5,000-year old practice, many believe yoga is a transformation journey. And through mastering the art of yoga one can achieve complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. It involves practice of asanas or postures in order to stay fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.

Yoga transforms you by opening up the physical and mental binds that block your progress and makes you more yourself. Benefits of yoga are innumerable and it's a holistic approach to health and well-being. With uncountable lives experiencing change through Yoga, the world also recognized its importance. On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga.

This year it's the second edition of International Yoga Day and the world is all geared up to wake up early morning and get going. People are so excited that social media is overflowing with images from around the world of people practicing yoga ahead of the main event.

Here's a look into the images which show how India is winning everybody's hearts with Yoga.

And when these amazing pictures weren't just enough, we thought of taking you through the yoga sessions back home in India.

What's your reaction?
