HYDERABAD: The Nampally XXI additional chief metropolitan magistrate (ACMM), B V L N Chakravarthy postponed the hearing of bail petition filed by B Ramalinga Raju, former chairman of Satyam computer services and seven others to Thursday. Raju and the others had filed a petition seeking bail in the court on Monday . K Surendra, public prosecutor (PP) felt that if the court granted bail to Ramalinga Raju, they may not cooperate with CBI officials for further investigation into the multi-crore scam. The high court, on August 18 last year, had granted bail to Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju, former Satyam CFO V Srinivas and three other former IT company employees G Ramakrishna, Venkatapathi Raju and Srisailam. However, the CBI approached the apex court with a request to cancel the bail. Responding to the CBI’s petition, E Uma Maheswara Rao, the advocate of Ramalinga Raju, however, recalled the Supreme Court direction, that Ramalinga Raju and the others could file a petition in a lower court for bail if the Special Court for the trial of Satyam cases failed to complete the trial by July 31.
