BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday dismissed as withdrawn a petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa praying for quashing of Chapter 22 of the Lokayukta report on illegal mining that indicted him.A division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath dismissed the petition.The court passed the orders after senior counsel Ravi B Naik appearing for Yeddyurappa filed a memo seeking to withdraw the petition, citing ‘subsequent developments along with liberty to challenge it at a later date’.However, the bench did not grant such liberty and dismissed it as withdrawn observing that it was premature to grant such liberty when the investigation is yet to be carried out.“It was the government which referred the matter to Lokayukta and it is premature to grant such relief,” the court observed.
