GUNTUR: A woman and her two daughters jumped into an agricultural well unable to bear the alleged harassment by a man at Allurivarepalem village of Narsaraopeta mandal Wednesday.
The woman was identified as Challa Neelima (30), and her daughters, Bhavani (7) and Ramya (5). Police have retrieved the bodies of the deceased and sent them to Narsaraopeta area hospital for autopsy.
Challa Sanyasi Rao, husband of one Neelima and a native of Ambativarepeta village in Gara mandal in Srikakulam district, came to Narsaraopeta mandal four months ago and was working as a security guard at a sheep farm. On the other hand, owner of the farm, Nimmagadda Jitendra, had lodged a complaint with Nasaraopeta Police one week ago, stating 48 sheep were stolen from his farm and mentioned Sanyasi Rao as a suspect. Following this, Narsaraopeta rural police picked up Sanyasi Rao and interrogated him without even registering a case against him. In the meantime, the farm owner Jitendra has been harassing Neelima. Unable to bear his alleged torture, she along with two daughters ended her life.
