CHENNAI: Governor K Rosaiah on Sunday inaugurated the 22nd anniversary celebrations of the All India Telugu Federation, in Korattur. The event presented a forum for the Telugu minority in the State to put forward their grievances, which included language equality and the lack of a Telugu cultural centre in the city. These issues were presented to the Governor, who said he would take it up with the Chief Minister. Rosaiah also urged the members of the community to take initiatives to learn the language of the State where they were staying. Chairman and Managing Director of The New Indian Express Group Manoj Kumar Sonthalia, who was also present, spoke about the shared culture and common traditions of the Telugu and Tamil communities.  Also present at the event were Justice Elipe Dharma Rao, Member of Parliament M Srinivasulu Reddy, and Apollo Hospitals executive director Preetha Reddy.
