Governors pat for government draws flak

HYDERABAD: BJP senior leader and former Union minister for state B Dattatreya has criticised governor ESL Narasimhan's comments on the functioning of the state government.Talking with reporters here on Sunday the BJP leader said that the governor had paid compliments to the state government by announcing that all was well in the state.Narasimhan also said that there was no danger to the government in the state.“On the contrary, everything is upside down in the state.The chief minister, ministers and even opposition leader are unable tour the Telangana region.Even the chief minister attends government programmes with high security.Several ministers are not attending their officer nor discharging their duties properly.Some others are continuously threatening the chief ministers.If the situation is like this, how can the governor say that everything in the state is hunky-dory?''  Dattatreya alleged that governors of many states were adopting double standards and were treating Congress and opposition parties governments differently.While Narasimhan was supporting and praising the government in Andhra Pradesh, his counterparts in Karnataka and Gujarat were acting differently and creating problems to the governments there.In Gujarat the governor, without consulting the chief minister, appointed the Lokayukta, he said.The BJP leader also took strong objection to governor's remark on crop holiday declared by farmers
