KOCHI: The state government on Monday submitted before the Kerala High Court that Harrisons Malayalam Foundation’s claim of title over an area of 1418.06 acres of land in Mundakkayam Estate, was invalid. Deputy Secretary of the Revenue Department T V Vijayakumar made the submission on a petition filed by the Harrisons Malayalam challenging a direction by the revenue authorities against cutting and removing rubber trees in the estate.The government submitted that the claim of rights over the land was in violation of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1973. It further added that the petitioner had not only grabbed precious government land under the garb of fraudulent documents but also cheated the landless people in the state.
