HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to invite the TJAC of employees, teachers and workers for talks on August 5 to resolve their pending grievances and avert the proposed strike from August 17.The Cabinet sub-committee on employees met here on Wednesday to discuss the JAC demands and the steps to be taken to avert the strike. Of the eight-member sub-committee, only five ministers attended the meeting. They are deputy chief minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha, ministers A Ramanarayana Reddy, D Prasada Rao, D Nagender and M Mukhesh Goud while N Raghuveera Reddy, B Saraiah and D Sridhar Babu  skipped the meeting. It may be recalled that the Telangana employees’ JAC has already served a notice on the government that it would launch an indefinite general strike from August 17 in support of their demand for a separate state.Later speaking to newsmen, finance minister A Ramanarayana Reddy said that the state government is ready to hold talks with the employees. He said  though the separate Telangana issue was not under the purview of the state government, the government is ready to discuss it during the talks with the employees.‘’We appeal to them not to resort to any action that will affect the administration and cause inconvenience to people,’’ the minister said. The meeting is also learnt to have discussed alternative options to minimise inconvenience caused to the public in case the employees decide to go ahead with the strike.
