Lokayukta Police on Thursday caught an employee of a Government Polytechnique College in neighbouring Khargone district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 from a welding trainer in lieu of releasing his remaining payment.

The employee, Kailash Chandra Usre, had demanded Rs 6,000 from the complainant, Mukesh Ahirwar, for releasing his June payment. Ahirwar agreed and at the same time lodged a complaint with Lokayukta, police sources said.

Lokayukta sleuths laid a trap and caught Usre when he was accepting the first instalment of Rs 1,500, they said. A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Usre and further investigations are on.
