Understanding of godAccording to me, God is a power who oversees and controls a lot of things in life. I am not one of those who say — I have conversations with God — but I d0 seek his guidance for a lot of important things and remember him on a daily basis. I have a very casual relationship with God. Religious practices and beliefs: I am definitely not a stickler for set religious practices. I believe that god is all encompassing and accepts each and everything. So, even if I don’t follow a set of religious practice, I’m sure I’ll still be able to connect with him. I am extremely religious, but definitely not a fanatic. My casual relationship with God is what works best for the kind of person that I am. I don’t like to be bogged down by certain rules or practices. Favourite pilgrimage spots:I have been going to the Kapaleeshwarar temple for a long time now. I really enjoy the entire experience of just being there. There is also a small Amman temple on Rangachari Road at Alwarpet. I love the temple and the goddess there is simply gorgeous. But even when I visit these temples, I don’t go dressed in a particular way or do certain things that I am supposed to do while visiting a temple. Belief in meditation: I have tried many different forms of meditation. People say that it helps you stay focussed, but personally, none of that has worked for me. It is true that meditation can help you concentrate on a particular thing, but I don’t know if it will help one connect with God.
