TIRUPUR: A group of six people murdered a man in a property dispute near Dharapuram on Sunday.Sources in the police said the victim, Ravichandran (50) was a resident of Ponnalipalayam village in Kethalrev near Dharapuram. Twenty years ago, he reportedly sold 1.75 acres of his 3.5 acre property to a person named Ravi. However, Ravi insisted that Ravichandran also sell the remaining property to him before occupying the land by force.Ravichandran filed a civil suit in a court to reclaim the land. For many years the dispute remained unsolved and both sides had regular quarrels. After the latest quarrel on Sunday, a gang that included Ravi, his son Murugesan, brother Kalimuthu, another person Govindasamy and his sons Selvaraj and Thangaraj went to Ravichandran’s house with sickles and knives. The group is said to have attacked Ravichandran who later died from the serious injuries he suffered. Theyalso snatched a 5.5 sovereign gold chain from the victim’s wife. Police in Kundadam registered a case and detained Kalimuthu. A search is going on to arrest the others amid an inquiry.
