Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsStudents who get ranks up to 10,000 in EAMCET will get full reminursement of fee regardless of the fee a college chrges for them. For those who secure ranks above 10,000, the fee reimbursement will be retriscted to Rs 35,000. If students were required to pay more, they needed to make their own arrangemetns, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Thursday. Of the total number of 689 private engineering colleges in the state, 85 charge fee higher than Rs 35,000. Further, students, who studied Intermediate at government junior colleges, residential colleges and social welfare colleges will be eligible for reimbursement of the entire amount if they secure admission to one of the 85 private colleges. The chief minister said the additional expenditure the government would incur on full reimbursement would be to the tune of Rs 100 crore and the total expenditure on reimbursements about Rs 4,000 crore. Meritorious students from SC/ST communities will be given full reimbursement in these colleges as usual. For allotment of management quota seats, the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will create a dedicated website where the number of seats available in each college will be displayed along with the number of students who have applied and the date of application submission to ensure transparency,” the chief minister said. The task force, which will begin inspection of private professional colleges in September, will inquire into the attendance of students and teachers, and infrastructure available as well as the performance of the students. “It is mandatory for the engineering colleges to display the data on attendance of faculty and students collected through biometric card system on their website in addition to the academic performance of students. The colleges are required to inform the parents and guardians of their wa rds ’ pe r f o rmanc e through SMS at regular intervals,” Kiran Kumar Reddy said. The APSCHE has also been directed to evaluate various courses offered in the BE stream based on eployability and to create new courses which ensure better placement opportunities for students. The government’s order on fee reimbursement and the launch of website to make public the data of management quota seat allotments are expected to be issued soon in time for the online counselling which will start on August 31. There will be no online counselling for management quota seats. first published:August 31, 2012, 10:33 ISTlast updated:August 31, 2012, 10:33 IST
