HYDERABAD: Differences among the state Mahila Congress members came to the fore during the Women’s Day celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, with followers of Mahila Congress chief Ganga Bhavani and APCC general secretary Rajani Reddy engaging in a verbal duel. This led to the event being ended abruptly after felicitation of successful women from various walks of life.Following directions from Ganga Bhavani who was out of station, her followersand other women party workers made necessary arrangements for the event. However, things turned sour after Rajani Reddy shouted at the organisers for not informing her about the event. She left the place immediately. Rajani Reddy, a Dalit, warned of making a complaint against Ganga Bhavani to the party high command alleging that the latter was not giving any importance to Dalit members.Talking to newsmen later, the APCC general secretary said. “I would bring Ganga Bhavani’s indifferent attitude to the notice of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.”
