Former President to interact with trainees

CHITRADURGA: Kudhapura in Challakere taluk will witness a rare spectacle on Tuesday morning when former President and technocrat Dr A P J Abdul Kalam will interact with the seventh batch of trainees at the Talent Development Centre (TDC) of Indian Institute of Science (IISc).Popularly known as second campus of the IISc, this unit has already trained more than 700 teachers. Teachers from Chitradurga, Bellary, Bidar and Navodaya schools have got advanced science teaching techniques. The Centre is set-up with an initiative of updating the knowledge of science teachers with the latest developments in the field.Special officer to IISc, Bangalore, H S Jagadish said: “Kalam will examine experiments conducted by trainees at the Centre after in which he will interact with them.” On the issue of security he said: “Elaborate security arrangements have been made in and around the campus.”
