Varanasi Seeking to bridge the gap between BJP and RSS in the Parivar, VHP on Thursday asked the saffron party to toe RSS ideology in a pro-active manner and ruled out floating a new political party to pursue the Sangh agenda.
?The BJP continues to be a political arm of the Sangh Parivar. The party should speak straight forward in pursuing the Sangh Parivar agendas as per the guidance and directive of RSS,? VHP International President Ashok Singhal said in Varanasi.
There was no need to form another pro-Hindu political outfit, he added.
?The Hindu political party is standing with the Sangh Parivar,? Singhal said.
Denying that there was any drift between the two outfits, he said such a confusion was created as 10 to 15 per cent of BJP leadership appeared to be advocating secular political agendas for the saffron party even as the rest continued to stand firmly behind the Sangh ideology.
Referring to the Sangh's directive to BJP at its three-day meeting in Chitrakoot recently, Singhal said that RSS has told BJP to adhere to its ideology in a forthright manner.
The VHP leader sought to defend firebrand leader Uma Bharati in view of her recent letter to RSS chief charging senior Sangh leader Suresh Soni with trying to scuttle her chances to become Chief Minister again, saying that she was a ?dedicated? worker of the Sangh Parivar.
He, however, refused to take any further question in reference to her spat with Soni.
