Flyover at Bari-Baruan proposed

JAIPUR: The in-charge of relief and rescue operations in the district, Arvind Padhee has proposed construction of a flyover from Baruan to Bari to ensure connectivity and smooth flow of relief in case of a flood situation in future. The proposal, already submitted to the State Government, solicits construction of a 15-km-long flyover which would ensure communication once the water level rises, as well as act as a refuge for the thousands ravaged by flood. “During floods, Bari remains cut off from the rest of the State with connecting roads submerged under water. This hinders the rescue and relief operations with the entire area remaining inaccessible for days together. A flyover can help tide over such problems,” said Padhee.Incidentally, residents of Bari remained marooned for a week after the flood waters surged to a height of around eight feet.
