New Delhi: Torrential rainfall has put Jaipur and neighbouring cities on flood alert. The Army has been deployed in Chaksu in Jaipur to help in relief and rescue operations as floods have hit several villages.

Meanwhile in Odisha, hundreds of villages in Keonjhar district are still cut off after roads and bridges were washed away. Thousands of people are surrounded by flood water and have complained of not getting any relief.

But in a relief, the water level has come down in many rivers in Odisha. "All relief materials are being carried. The administration is trying to reach all villagers to provide relief materials and they are trying to make free kitchen available in different centres," said Suranjan Kumar Sahoo, BDO, Ghasipura.
