Fire at Bio-Diesel Unit in Vishakhapatnam, No Casualties So Far
Biomax Fuels Ltd has a manufacturing capacity of five lakh tonnes of bio-diesel from multi-feedstock at VSEZ.

Vishakhapatnam: A major fire has broken out at Biomax Fuels Limited, a bio-diesel unit in SEZ Duvvada, in Andhra Pradesh's Vishakhapatnam. No casualties were reported in the incident, officials said.

Biomax Fuels Ltd has a manufacturing capacity of five lakh tonnes of bio-diesel from multi-feedstock at VSEZ. 12 out of the 18 diesel tanks have been destroyed in the fire.

Fifteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze is now under control. The Navy also mobilised choppers for sorties to review the area, and mobilised medical teams to help those affected.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

District Collector N Yuvaraj and other rushed to the spot and examined the operations.
