PUDUCHERRY/TIRUCHY: The filing of nominations for by-election in Indira Nagar in Puducherry is set to begin on Monday. The notification of the poll, scheduled for October 13, would also be announced on the same day. AIADMK candidate Indira Nagar Suthukeni Baskaran has already launched his campaign and has met the party’s local level functionaries in the constituency. On Saturday, he met party chief J Jayalalithaa and sought her blessings. The Congress has just initiated the process for finding a candidate with PCC president A V Subramanian and former CM V Vaithilingam holding confabulations with AICC general secretary and Puducherry in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad in Delhi.In Tamil Nadu also, the AIADMK is far ahead in preparations. AIADMK candidate for Tiruchy West Paranjothi is likely to file his nomination papers on September 21. He has started garnering the support of party’s senior members and functionaries.
