The other two semi-finalists are Roger Federer and Nikolay Davydenko.

New Delhi: David Ferrer has made it to his first US Open men's singles semi-final getting the better of Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina in straight sets.

The Spaniard dominated the game from the start carrying the momentum from his win over world No. 2 Rafael Nadal into his quarter-final match.

Ferrer won the first two sets 6-2, 6-3 in a little over an hour but Chela provided some resistance in the third set.

However, Ferrer pumped in 19 winners in the third set alone and won the set and the match with an ace. The final score was 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 in Ferrer's favour.

Joining Ferrer in the semi-finals is Serbian Novak Djokovic who steamrolled his way into the last four.

Djokovic beat Spain's Carlos Moya in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7), 6-1.

The Serbian was clearly the better player even though Moya gave him a tough fight in the first two sets.

However, after losing both the sets, Moya ran out of steam in the third losing the match on a double fault.

With the win third seed Djokovic made it to his reach his third consecutive Grand Slam semi-final.

World No.1 Roger Federer, playing in his 14th Grand Slam semi-final, will face Nikolay Davydenko for a place in the finals. In the other semi-final Djokovic will take on surprise semi-finalist David Ferrer.

Federer is 9-0 against Davydenko, and even against the pother two semi-finalists his record is great. He is 7-0 against Ferrer and 4-1 against Djokovic.

Djokovic's lone win over Federer came in the final of a hard-court tournament in Montreal last month. It was in that tournament that Djokovic became the first man since 1994 to defeat men ranked Nos. 1-3 at the same tournament.
