MYSORE: Joggers in Manasagangothri campus and Kukkarahalli lake jolted with fear when a watchman warned them to keep away, claiming that he spotted a leopard. Watchman Ramakrishna informed authorities that he sighted a leopard on Thursday night in the campus.He said that it disppeared in the dark and again was spotted between Senate Bhavan and Gangothri glades near the Kukkarahalli lake.As guards informed the police and forest officials , the officials including ACF Durge Gowda , Dr Prayag and RFO Nagraj swung into action and began looking for pug marks.The employee on duty claimed that they spotted the leopard within 50 m radius.However, the animal had to cross two roads to reach Kukkarahalli lake and Horticulture Department farms.Varsity authorities closed Kukkarahalli lake gates to facilitate officials to look for pug marks. Officials appealed to the public to cooperate and help ensure their safety.
