NABARANGPUR: Paddy crops in thousands of acres in 42 gram panchayats have suffered heavy damage due to erratic rainfall in Nabarangpur district. Informing this to mediapersons on Tuesday, Deputy Director of Agriculture Bhramarbar Sahu said due to erratic rainfall, 60 per cent of paddy crop had been damaged in Jagannathpur and Jhadbandhguda gram panchayats under Nandahandi block and Biriguda gram panchayat of Tentulikhunti block. The 42 gram panchayats had received less than 50 per cent rainfall in the kharif season. However, farmers alleged that the percentage of loss is much more than the official reports.
