HYDERABAD: In a drive to eliminate illegal sale of fireworks, the city police has inspected various fireworks shops and have registered cases against 13 persons and managements for violating licencing conditions.Majority of the cases have been registered against fireworks shops at Malakpet, Begum Bazar, Shahinayathgunj and SR Nagar. Three cases have been registered against shop-keepers at SR Nagar and Shahinayathgunj for stocking up huge quantities of explosives in their premises against the licencing norms.City police commissioner A K Khan said that as per licencing rules, no person shall manufacture, import, export or transport for sale or use an explosive. Police officers of the rank of SI and above are empowered to check the place of storage once in six months.
