CHENNAI: What is perhaps a hint into more trouble brewing within Air India, almost 60 flight movements, including international destinations, have been curtailed or rescheduled until June 15. Air India’s decision comes as a surprise in the middle of the peak travel season. An office circular of which Express has a copy shows how many important destinations that were connected on a regular basis have been cut by almost 50%. For instance, on the Delhi-Heathrow route, where 15 flights were operated every week, only seven will be operated until June 15. Similarly, the Delhi-Dubai route that saw 14 flights a week has been cut to seven with instructions of uplifting maximum fuel to these destinations so as to reduce fuel uplifts in Delhi. The Delhi-Kathmandu connection has also been cut from 14 to 7 flights.
