PUDUCHERRY: Collector and District Election Officer (DEO) SB Deepak Kumar has sought a second report with clarifications on certain aspects on the alleged violation of poll code by Chief minister N Rangasamy and AINRC members while filing of nominations for Indira Nagar by-poll on Monday.Responding to media reports, visuals and photographs of the Chief minister’s red light car being parked inside the office of the RO and the complaints of violation by the ruling party sent by Indian National Congress and AIADMK to Election Commission of India, Deepak Kumar suo motto sought a report from RO. The RO complied with the directive, but the DEO further sought clarifications and asked the RO to give a second report. Once the report is given it will be sent to Election Commission of India, he said.However, the incident would be examined for violation of IPC 188 (disobedience of order promulgated for elections) and would not affect the nominations and the election process, he said. In case of a violation an FIR would be registered and would be investigated as per the provisions of the law.
