New Delhi: Two persons, one of them a robber, gang-raped a 40-year-old woman after having an argument with her husband the previous day. The incident has been reported from Adarsh Nagar area of north-west Delhi. A police source said that the accused, Eroj alias Chitti, is a robber and has been involved in more than 14 cases. He was arrested after the victim approached the police. An FIR of gang rape also has been lodged in this respect.
A police source said that Eroj lives in the neighbourhood of the victim in Adarsh Nagar area. "On last Friday, he had an argument with Bishambhar, husband of the victim, Mamta (name changed). Bishambhar had beaten him up in the scuffle. Eroj threatened to take revenge against his act," he said.
A day after the incident, Eroj and one of his close friends allegedly raped Mamta when she was alone at her house, the source further informed. Police have registered an FIR and arrested Eroj. "We don't know the name of second accused in the case. Mamta said that she doesn't know who the man was," police said.
