New Delhi: The residents of Delhi who joined Aam Aadmi Party's campaign against electricity bills could face legal trouble. One of the electricity supply companies has decided to lodge FIRs against six residents of Jahangirpuri. The FIR will be filed against six people who are residing in Lakhi Park slums of Jahangirpuri.

Claiming that the six people owned almost Rs 20,000 in dues the company has filed a complaint in the Jahangirpuri police station. The police said that lodging the FIR they will investigate the matter and find out the persons who had connected their power lines.

The company had disconnected the power supply to their houses for non-payment of dues but the connection was restored by APP leader Arvind Kejriwal's supporters. AAP activists claimed that they would provide free legal help to those residents against whom FIRs are filed.

Kejriwal and AAP have alleged that electricity supply companies have hiked tariffs without any rational and have asked Delhi residents not to pay the bill.
